You might be enjoying your linksys wireless router in a while that might cause you to experience some problem with your router like connection problems. Actually, this technical problem can truly be experience especially when you have been using the same router for years. There are some advisable trouble shootings that can be done before giving up your router.

Step 1

This process is like logging out and logging in your computer when some technical problem occurs. Same concept with the Linksys Wireless Router, you need to unplug the modems and the routers even on its power source and let it rest for about 30 seconds before plugging in the devices again.

Step 2

Once everything was put back, try to connect to the internet via the wireless local area. Once you failed to connect, open the browser and type the 192.168.1.1 on the browser URL. Log in the linksys default password as “admin”. No need to input anything on the username.

This log in will make you see the linksys wireless router configuration. Go to the “Set up” in the configuration utility and try to enter your password and username again. Save the setting before closing the window.

Step 3

You are still under linksys wireless router configuration and must click on the wireless tab and change the channel of your router. Change the radio band from “Wide – 40MHz Channel” to “Standard 20MHz Channel.” This might help the router to find an internet. Go to “Access Restrictions” and remove any restriction that might be the cause why you cannot connect to the internet.

Go to Applications and Gaming.” Select “Port Range Forwarding” and from there you can add application that you are using that does not work properly with your network. Select TCP as the common protocol. And put the IP address under “To IP Address”. This way to change the linksys wireless router configuration that might help you troubleshoot the problem.

Note: If still encounter technical problems, download a router upgrade from the Linksys website and reset the factory setting that will reset all passwords to Linksys router default password.
